A MESSAGE FROM THE INTERIM TOWN MANAGER:
Robert W. Seltzer
As your Interim Town Manager, I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to all who call our community home. The Town Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Town, responsible to the Town Council for the administration of all town affairs placed in the Manager’s charge by or under the Smithfield Town Charter. These duties include directing and supervising all town departments; and ensuring that the laws and provisions of the Town Charter are faithfully executed; preparing and submitting an annual budget; keeping the Town Council fully advised as to the financial condition and future needs of the Town; making recommendations to the Town Council concerning the affairs of the Town; and performing such duties specified under the Town Charter and required by the Town Council. Our town is a vibrant and dynamic place, rich in history, and a deep sense of pride. We are fortunate to live in a community where neighbors support one another, and where every resident's voice is valued in shaping our collective future. I invite you to explore all that makes our town special—from the scenic parks and local businesses to our exciting recreational events. While serving as your Interim Town Manager, it is my priority to ensure that our community remains a place where everyone can thrive. I am committed to transparency, engagement, and continuous improvement. Your feedback, ideas, and participation are essential to building a better future together. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office if you have questions, suggestions, or would like to get involved. Together, we can continue to make Smithfield a great place to live, work, and play. |
