Smithfield Snowstorm:
Many kids in the town of Smithfield cut out snowflakes and put them on their windows. Many houses and even businesses in Smithfield participated in the snowstorm. You could send in photos of the snowflakes that would then be put into a video. This was a great way to bring together the town during the pandemic.
Many children from Smithfield went around Deerfield Park looking for fall inspired clues. Each clue had a letter that when you were finished spelt out a fall word. This word would then be submitted in a google form that could be found at the end of the scavenger hunt. Once the google form was submitted you were entered into a raffle and one winner was picked.

Smithfield Youth Council members, Reese and Kaya shared an Anti-Bullying Presentation to the high school. They focused on the viewpoint of a student and communicating the issues with parents. Drop and Shop: Drop and Shop was a great opportunity for parents to have a night out while their child enjoyed fun holiday activities with Smithfield Youth Council Members. This night gave parents the opportunity to holiday shop, have a relaxing night at home, or to have a night out. All of the children did crafts, had snacks, danced, and got their picture taken with Santa.
Earth Day: The Smithfield Youth Council members picked up litter in Deerfield Park. Other members demonstrated pollution in the watershed to young children in Smithfield.
